Website Analysis

Facebook (www.facebook.com) is a famous social networking website with a millions of users per day. Through the website the users can create their own personal profile which only they can list their personal interests or add photos. We also can contact people through the Facebook globally. Many using of Facebook means of communications with friends or to find others with common interests. Users also can play different games and join different platforms and communities of their interests. The website is designed and performed for anyone who can use computers and very easy to use.

Facebook is made for whole world people. There are only few main colors in this website and few of them are different shades of blue. It's very simple so it's very easy to use Facebook and can find out why Facebook is made for. Before you logging into the website, you can see the Facebook is designed very simple and neat with blue color. One of the main color is white, giving the website an open feeling (WYSOCKI 2004, 143). It gives expectation to people that this website is networking and socialism. The visual presentation of a page is very simple. It just shows where to type the account and password, that's all need to do. Also it is very easy to create an account and it doesn't take that long. The first page of Facebook, there is a few people on the whole world which shows it is able to communicate all over the world through this website. All the sites have different lettershapes: Typefaces which is to get some attention. This website used modern typefaces which "to reflect the rationality of the enlightenment, and new printing technologies allowed them to design faces using very thin strokes" (WYSOCKI, 2004). There is a small chart on this website as well. It shows data and posts like someone posted on someone's wall or someone liked someone's wall post. It brings technical tone to a text. There is not much visual transition on this website because one screen doesn't change much into the next. This website is basically based on blue and white color. There is no sound for this website and the sound can suggest a mood or place but this site is not about a mood or place therefore there is no sound for this website. There is nothing pops out or calls strong attention to itself.

Once you log in this website, you can clearly see what people write on their own wall or post other people's wall through the news feed. Also you can choose what you want to see something like popular posts or latest posts. Each section such as news feed, messages, event and etc has small icons which indicate what the section is. I think this website is for everyone because of simple. Everyone can upload photos to others' wall and link to them any sites as well. In the users' point, this convenient part of choices of languages gives out how useful and prepared this website is. The users use self presentation to relay information to the viewers. They are all able to make own profile and also they may change their pictures or alter their profile information to seem more interesting to the viewer.There is not enough photographs which means that most of things are written in texts but photographs can also be manipulated to look old or dreamy or super-saturated. If there are some more photographs, it would be easier to analyze a text composed of photograph. Facebook allows for the senders and receivers to post or messages through wall posts, messages, and via chat. This website enables users to choose their privacy settings and choose who can see specific parts of their profile. Users can control who sees other information they have shared as well as who can find them in searches, through their privacy settings. It's very easy to change the privacy settings. Privacy settings can be set for individual albums, limiting the groups of people that can see an album. There is a like button, if viewers interested in someone's post or photos, they can just click like button under the post which means that viewers are interested in. The first appearance of this website is very simple and feel like missed something but users can do so many things through this website not only communication.

Overall, this website is very simple collection of visual aspects. I think the creator want the users to be sociable with other people. All ages can be with Facebook. With the simple colors and layouts give the users to look through the website even without a lot of concentration but with interest for what that is all about in this website. Also it is good to share their own thoughts and feelings about them in Facebook news feed. At the bottom of the page, you can find a range of many different languages. This is the reason why facebook is so successful worldwide. I think that facebook will continue to grow in users numbers.
